Galley as a Dabble alternative

The facts first: Dabble is a subscription writing app ($9–29/month, lifetime ~$699) known for its plot grid and co-writing. It exports manuscripts, not print-ready books, so you need another tool for formatting. Galley (€199 once) lets you write and export the print-interior PDF and EPUB in one tool, but it doesn't have a plot grid or co-writing.
Some months you write every day and some months you don't write at all, but a subscription charges you either way. Dabble does have a lifetime plan, but at around $699 it costs more than three Galley licences.
The other difference is what you get at the end. Dabble exports a manuscript, not a book, so for a print interior or a store-ready EPUB you'll need another tool or a freelancer. Galley exports a print PDF with mirrored margins and a proper gutter, and an EPUB 3 with your cover, for KDP, IngramSpark or anywhere else, and checks them before you upload.

Price and formatting
Dabble is nice to write in, and its plot grid is the best of any writing app I've seen. If you plan with a grid, that might be enough to choose it. But Standard is about $19/month, so a book that takes two years costs more than twice as much as Galley, and the ~$699 lifetime plan costs more than three Galley licences. And since Dabble exports a manuscript, not a book, you'll still need a formatting tool for a print interior or store-ready EPUB, which usually costs extra.
Galley is one payment and exports the finished files: a print PDF with mirrored margins and a gutter that gets wider with the page count, an EPUB 3 with your cover, and a KDP preflight check before you upload. It doesn't have a plot grid or co-writing, so if you need those, go with Dabble.
