# Hard to lose, *easy to leave*

Private, backed up, never trained on, never locked in.

A writing tool holds the only copy of the one thing you can't rewrite from memory. Galley takes that seriously, and treats leaving as your right rather than a threat to be managed.

## No AI touches your prose

Nothing in Galley writes, rewrites, suggests or completes a sentence. Nothing trains on your book — not to improve a model, not to improve Galley. The tools here count, check and typeset. Every word in your manuscript is one you typed, and I have no intention of changing that.

## Kept

Autosave as you type, a save when you leave, and ⌘S when you want to be sure. Daily version history per chapter. A 30-day bin for anything deleted. Offline, your chapters keep saving to your device and sync when you're back. Your book is walled off to your account — no other writer can see it, and neither can anyone who isn't you.

## Yours

One click exports everything you've written in open formats — print PDF, EPUB, Word, Markdown — plus the whole book and its bible as a single zip. Leaving is genuinely easy, which is the only thing that makes staying a choice instead of a trap. And if Galley ever shut down, you'd get six months' notice, exports throughout, and the code open-sourced.
