# Your manuscript *knows your mistakes*

After chapter 14 you can’t see your own book. Galley can.

Revision is where a draft becomes a novel, and where tired eyes miss the most. Galley runs the checks you can't run on yourself, keeps a net under every change, and — only if you want it — keeps count of the words while you do.

## The checks your tired eye can’t run

Rename a character across every chapter from one box, with a snapshot taken first in case you regret it. Count your fillers per thousand words and see the chapter each one peaks in. Find the character called Jeanie 41 times and Jeany once. Sweep for British/American drift, hyphenation and stray straight quotes — and it leaves dialogue alone, because a character who says "colour" isn't a typo.

## Read it the way a reader will

Read-through gives you the whole book end to end, no sidebar, no chapter boundaries to click past. Book at a glance turns it into shape instead: chapter lengths side by side, how much of each is dialogue, how long the sentences run. That's where you find the chapter that sags, which is not the one you thought.

## Nothing is ever really gone

Daily version snapshots per chapter, compared against the current text and restorable. Draft milestones for the versions that matter, so "the draft I sent my agent" stays a thing you can open. Deleted books and chapters wait 30 days in the bin.

## Momentum, if you want it

Set a daily target per book, or don't. There's a ring for today, a chart for the last two weeks, and a streak that counts itself — and a quiet mode with none of it, because some people write to a schedule and some wait for the rain. Chapters read as draft → revised → final, so you can see how much of the book is actually finished rather than how much of it exists.
